Bush wants his legacy to be what De Tocqueville thought he saw 200 years ago

What De Tocqueville wrote:

“I foresee that all the military rulers who may rise up in great democratic nations will find it easier to conquer with their armies than to make their armies live at peace after conquest. There are two things that a democratic people will always find very difficult, to begin a war and to end it.” [Link]

“I know of no country in which there is so little independence of mind and real freedom of discussion as in America.” [Link]

“The American Republic will endure, until politicians realize they can bribe the people with their own money.” [Link]

“All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.” [Link]

“When an opinion has taken root among a democratic people and established itself in the minds of the bulk of the community, it afterwards persists by itself and is maintained without effort, because no one attacks it.” [Link] (Note: DeTocqueville never imagined the creation of blogs)

Why christians should care:

If Jesus taught leaders to conquer other countries, it's not in my Bible. From what translation does Bush have briefing memos read to him?

It's time to call Bush's junta what it is: Fascism

A few decades late, but welcome to the fight, brother. Better late than never.

And still the Invertecrats can't unite to block Scalito

Most Americans are sick of Bush on every issue. A majority say they'll vote in the mid-terms for someone who opposes Bush (51-40). But the spineless Dems think they should be afraid of "moderate" Democrats.

Why christians should care:

When you sing or hear the chorus from Handel's MESSIAH, "All We Like Sheep (Have Gone Astray)," you think of congressional Democrat "leadership."

How can anyone believe a word Bush says any more?

Did Bush have someone irradiate Molly to bring her cancer back?

She's been up his butt for 30 years. It's amazing he hasn't had her taken care of before now.

Why christians should care:

That thing about "false witness" applies to republicans and their theofascist hitmen, too. If anything, it applies more to them since they make all the claims they make about getting emails directly from God.

Why Bush is anti-education

Scholars demand truth about 9-11.

Bush responds with No Child Left Behind party.

Bush's tax cuts have hurt the economy

DeptHomeSex keeps us safe from...nothing whatsoever

Especially not the porn they all seem to love.

Or anything else

Why christians should care:

Our tax dollars are their resources, and they're supposed to be good stewards. When do they plan to start?

Republicans cannot exist without a neverending list of new and nastier enemies only they can "stop"

Or at least make enough people believe they'll "stop."

Why christians should care:

"Blessed are the fearmongers, for they shall be called the agents of God" is not in my Bible.

You are using an EWS at this very moment

Enemy Weapons System, that is.

Why christians should care:

Jesus never told anyone to hate people they were afraid of. At least, not in my Bible. Perhaps there's a Revised Standard Theofascist Edition that includes scripture only taught at Baptist seminaries.

Theofascists aren't angry, they're filled with the Holy Spirit

...when they demonize and lie about people they want to put into concentration camps.

Bush wants political "discourse without anger." Okay, Falwell first. Then Robertson, Dobson, Der Ruschkopf, Coultergeist, Insannity, O'Really?...when they start, I'll start.

Why christians should care:

"Do as I say, not as I do" is not in my Bible. "Love thy neighbor" is.

This explains a lot, but doesn't help anything

Poll shows most Americans...wait for it...are dumber than Bush.

Much of the problem is the media itself, which serves as a disinformation agency for the Bush administration. Fox "News" and right-wing talk radio are the worst, but with propagandistic outlets setting the standard for truth and patriotism, all of the media is affected to some degree.

Why christians should care:

"Whatever you do to the least of these" is not in my Bible. "Whatever you do for the least of these" is.

Wherever Bush brings democracy, total chaos immediately ensues

Why christians should care:

"Blessed are the peacebreakers, for they shall pillage the entire planet" is not in my Bible.

Bush gagged scientist over global warming

Why christians should care:

Polluting the environment for profit is not in my Bible. Good stewardship of God's gifts is.

There's still time to stop Scalito

But it'll take work this weekend. Are you up for it?

For the latest updates this weekend, goto:

Senators are freaking out. Bush is freaking out. Media whores are freaking out. Help them get their freak on, and not in the good way.

Live, on-air filibuster right now. Join in.

"Sit down, John, sit down, John; for God's sake, John, sit down!"

"You're obnoxious and disliked, that cannot be denied." (1776)

Kerry wants to filibuster Scalito. He should take a lesson from John Adams and let someone else introduce the resolution of revolution. Then it might stand a chance.

Why christians should care:

It only takes one vertebrate to filibuster. And all that vertebrate has to do is quote Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice's lies, the read a list of their crimes and misdemeanors. That ought to stretch a filibuster over at least a month.

Have faith, and work for deliverance in the mid-terms

Why christians should care:

Because if you act as if you have faith, faith will be given to you. And because, as Benjamin Franklin wrote, God helps those who help themselves.

Bush claims Constitution gives him right to declare himself fuehrer during a war

And even if it doesn't, what are we gonna do about it? The congressional Democrats won't fight. Any ideas? Anyone...anyone...(sound of crickets)

From the Moonie Birdcage Liner:

President Bush (Thursday) said he has exclusive authority over a broad range of issues -- including forbidding White House officials to testify before Congress about the government's Hurricane Katrina response and ordering warrantless electronic surveillance within the United States.
"Conducting war is a responsibility in the executive branch, not the legislative branch," the president said at a 46-minute press conference. "Most presidents believe that during a time of war that we can use our authorities under the Constitution to make decisions necessary to protect us."
Democrats have accused the president of breaking the law by ordering the National Security Agency in 2002 to eavesdrop on international communications between suspected terrorists and people in the United States. Senate hearings on the once-secret program are scheduled for Feb. 6.
Mr. Bush acknowledged that "there will be a legal debate about whether or not I have the authority to do this," but added, "I'm absolutely convinced I do. And I'm going to continue using my authority."
In response to a question from The Washington Times, Mr. Bush said: "We're going to do what is necessary, within the Constitution and within the law, and at the same time guaranteeing people's civil liberties, to protect the people."

More, if you have the stomach for that fishwrap's sewage.

And for all his posturing and bull$#!+, he still can't protect us from a troop of Girl Scouts.

Why christians should care:

It pretty much speaks for itself, doesn't it?

Why we need to arm ourselves, too

Here's another reason
Coultergeist (see pix below) wants someone to poison Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens so Bush can appoint another fascist judge. I'm not making this up.

Why christians should care:

As long as republicans have guns, we need guns.

Dems finally are the French

But not for the reasons fascists have said for three years.

Why christians should care:

Democrats fight Bush exactly as the French fought Hitler in 1940: At first, very badly; eventually, not at all.

How Democrats fight republicans

Constitution 1, Bush's fascist police state 0

Librarian tells jackbooted FBI thugs they are not above the law just because their fuehrer thinks he is; FBI thugs get warrant before searching computers for bogus terist threat data.

Why christians should care:

If we have to obey laws, so do they. On the other hand...

Hitler also had a personal bodyguard.

They didn't have much respect for libraries, either.

Click on headlines to read news stories

You all do understand to click on headlines to read the relevant stories, right? If you don't read the stories, my Rant-n-Raves make even less sense than they do under the best circumstances.

Okay, you first

BREAKING: Bush says we should take Osama bin Hidin seriously.

Why christians should care:

Bush should have taken Osama seriously in August, 2001, instead of clearing brush on his...ahem...ranch. What was the title of that "historical document" again? Something like, "Bin Laden Will Attack New York and Washington on the Morning of September 11," wasn't it?

Stick it to Chris Matthews

Unless, of course, you really do hate America and want the terists to win. Then just tell him he's right.

Why christians should care:

Why christians should care:

Soon it'll be illegal to be gay. Who's next on their list? If you think you're safe, tell it to the German Jew World War I veterans who disappeared into Hitler's concentration camps. Or maybe just ask FAUXNEWZ. They're not fascist enough anymore.

FAUXNEWZ joins librulmedia

Als sie die Sozialdemokraten einsperrten,

Als sie die Gewerkschafter holten,

When they arrested the trade unionists,

Why christians should care:

Bush is the biggest criminal in American history. No one is safe from his fascist junta.

Christian abayas on the way

Theofascists don't want us to look at pretty girls.

Holy man Pat Robertson avoids looking at pretty girls, hires others to tell him how sinful they look.

Was two-time squinting champion in college.

Why christians should care:

Listening to theofascist lies, hatespeech=good, looking at pretty girls=bad, very bad.

Chris Matthews alert: Theofascists are just like Islamofascists!

The Qur'an tells both women and men to be modest. [For some Muslims, modest clothing for women is a head covering called a 'hijab', but this was not worn in all medieval Muslim societies. Whenever a woman entered a mosque, however, she would always have her head covered. (This was also true of medieval Christian women entering a church.) In some societies even the woman's face was covered.]

Theofascists don't object when Schwarzenator appeals to all the latent homosexuals in their midst.

Neither did the first nazis. ("The Torchbearer," by Hitler's favorite sculptor, Arno Breker.)

I'm just saying...

Oddly enough, theofascists don't object to Coultergeist's pathetic attempts at sex appeal.

Or to Jessica Simpson's successful efforts at sex appeal.

But they're all republicans, so, "That's diff'runt!"

Phone sex=good, "Book of Daniel" bad, very bad

Seeing as he's an outspoken social conservative, some folks were surprised to find out that one of the largest contributors to Rep. Roy Blunt's (R-Mo.) political action committee last year was a businessman who made his fortune in the 1990s off the phone-sex business.

Jeffrey Prosser, dubbed by the Columbia Journalism Review in a 1998 story "a world-class phone-sex operator," gave $5,000 to Blunt's Rely On Your Beliefs fund in 2005 and his wife, Dawn Prosser, gave another $5,000, making them the largest donor couple to Blunt's PAC.

So, an embarrassed Blunt will return the money? Not so much.

Why christians should care:

Theofascist hypocrites throw hissyfits of biblical proportions over a teevee show, but say nada, zero, zip, goose egg about Blunt's pornpal.

Baptists=theofascist chickenhawks, Methodists=terist-loving peaceniks

CHICAGO, Illinois (Reuters) -- Some U.S. religious leaders are stepping up pressure on Washington to end the nearly 3-year-old Iraq war. But the influence of those who oppose the conflict has been weak so far and the faith community, like U.S. public opinion, is divided.

A statement of conscience calling the war "an unjust and immoral invasion and occupation of Iraq" has been signed by 99 bishops and more than 5,000 members of the United Methodist Church, the second-largest Protestant denomination in the land.

President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are both Methodists, but leaders of the 11-million-member church say they have had no response from the White House.

The largest single U.S. Protestant body, however, the 18-million-strong Southern Baptist Convention, says Bush has "shown courage and leadership in his valiant opposition to terrorism" and deserves the "deepest gratitude and respect."

Why christians should care:

Someone should dig out Bush's and Cheney's church attendance and giving records for the past 30 years and see if they are Methodists, theofascists or hypocrites.

Do you support the troops, or do you want the terists to win?

Theofascists are determined for you kids to grow up ignorant

Ron Nehring, protege of conservative strategist Grover Norquist, Vice-Chairman of the California Republican Party and former colleague of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, has introduced a proposal to convert all east San Diego County schools in the Grossmont Union High School District into charter schools, RAW STORY has learned.

Why christians should care:

The Bible does not prove the Earth is 6000 years old, or that Adam and Eve rode vegetarian tyrannosaurs to church. And the theofascists even know this. But they promote such lunacy to destroy education and create future generations of dumb, easily manipulated worker bees.

Hitler hated smart people, too, and ran them out of his country. Fortunately, most of them came here. Today's republican fascists are doing everything they can to destroy the intellectual legacy these refugees--like Einstein, for instance--left behind. They want people to be ignorant.

Controversial theofascist views=good, everything else=bad, very bad

Theofascists will destroy your life

They're going after Microsoft again in an attempt to destroy the company. Have they ever actually read the New Testament?

Why christians should care:

No one is safe from these brownshirted, theofascist bullies.

A pastor (sic) who threatened a national boycott against Microsoft and other major corporations for endorsing a gay rights bill urged supporters Tuesday to buy up the companies' stock and dump it to drive prices down.

Rev. Ken Hutcherson, pastor (sic) of Antioch Bible Church (sic) in the Seattle suburb of Redmond, said the stock-dumping plan had been part of his strategy all along.

''You got to find out how you affect a company,'' Hutcherson said, conceding that it would be hard to get people to shun products from companies that dominate the marketplace as Microsoft and Boeing do.

He wants supporters to buy one or two shares over the next few months, then sell them May 1.

Contradicting everything they claim to believe about the "free market," theofascists kill teevee show, "The Book of Daniel," for having ideas they deem unacceptable.

In the parallel universe of Kancervatron, you don't have to know anything about the Bill of Rights to call yourself an expert

General Hayden must think he's an amhateradio talk show host. You know the type, self-appointed experts on literally everything, and with credentials in nothing but lies and hatespeech.

Why christians should care:

Republicans just make up whatever they want to be the truth, and then call us names when we show their lies to be lies.

What republicans would have us believe the Fourth Amendment says

QUESTION: Jonathan Landay with Knight Ridder. I'd like to stay on the same issue, and that had to do with the standard by which you use to target your wiretaps. I'm no lawyer, but my understanding is that the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution specifies that you must have probable cause to be able to do a search that does not violate an American's right against unlawful searches and seizures. Do you use --

GEN. HAYDEN: No, actually -- the Fourth Amendment actually protects all of us against unreasonable search and seizure.

QUESTION: But the --

GEN. HAYDEN: That's what it says.

QUESTION: But the measure is probable cause, I believe.

GEN. HAYDEN: The amendment says unreasonable search and seizure.

QUESTION: But does it not say probable --

GEN. HAYDEN: No. The amendment says --

QUESTION: The court standard, the legal standard --

GEN. HAYDEN: -- unreasonable search and seizure.

QUESTION: The legal standard is probable cause, General. You used the terms just a few minutes ago, "We reasonably believe." And a FISA court, my understanding is, would not give you a warrant if you went before them and say "we reasonably believe"; you have to go to the FISA court, or the attorney general has to go to the FISA court and say, "we have probable cause."

And so what many people believe -- and I'd like you to respond to this -- is that what you've actually done is crafted a detour around the FISA court by creating a new standard of "reasonably believe" in place of probable cause because the FISA court will not give you a warrant based on reasonable belief, you have to show probable cause. Could you respond to that, please?

GEN. HAYDEN: Sure. I didn't craft the authorization. I am responding to a lawful order. All right? The attorney general has averred to the lawfulness of the order.

Just to be very clear -- and believe me, if there's any amendment to the Constitution that employees of the National Security Agency are familiar with, it's the Fourth. And it is a reasonableness standard in the Fourth Amendment. And so what you've raised to me -- and I'm not a lawyer, and don't want to become one -- what you've raised to me is, in terms of quoting the Fourth Amendment, is an issue of the Constitution. The constitutional standard is "reasonable." And we believe -- I am convinced that we are lawful because what it is we're doing is reasonable.

What the Fourth Amendment actually says

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. "

What to expect in this year's SOTU

More lies and bull$#!+. In the parallel universe of Kancervatron, whatever Bush says, the opposite is the truth. (Kudos to ThinkProgress for the video compilation from past SOTUs.)

For example, this year, according to news reports, President Bush will “will attempt to shift focus from the polarizing war in Iraq to a more popular domestic priority: taming health care costs.” But President Bush has pledged to tame health care costs in all his previous SOTUs. Meanwhile, the cost of health care continues to skyrocket.

Why christians should care:

Everything this "God's man in the White House" says is a lie. Would God put such a man in power?

You'll need a goodly supply of these for the "state, of the...state...speech to the...speech to the nation...whatever you want to call it."

For republican chickenhawks, putting on a bumper sticker is the same as putting on a uniform

Both fight terists equally effectively, so those with fascist bumper stickers now are eligible for veterans' benefits. And since veterans' benefits are getting cut each month, that's not saying much anymore.

Why christians should care:

It's bad enough the fascists created that parallel universe, Kancervatron, in the first place.
But when it spills over into the real world, it's like crashing matter into anti-matter. Worse, it's like crossing the streams of the two antithetical worlds.

Anything not destroyed in the process winds up covered in slime.

Bush thinks being king also makes him a one-man Constitutional Convention

Who writes the law of the United States?

Why christians should care:

In nazi Germany, the Constitution was amended to make being Jewish illegal. Imagine an America where being a Buddhist is illegal, and Buddhists are rounded up by Baptist goon squads. No one is safe from Bush's fascist junta.

For more than 200 years, the answer was clear. The first sentence of the Constitution’s first article tells us that “All legislative Powers herein granted” go to Congress. As the framers carefully explained, this means only the “Senate and House of Representatives”—not the president in the act of signing a bill into law.

But recent executive branch maneuvers risk shifting the traditional balance of power decisively toward the president’s side by snatching from Congress those very same “legislative Powers.” It is a dangerous development.

Attacks on legislative and judicial prerogatives are typically based on aggressive claims of executive power under the Constitution. Such claims played pivotal roles in the Justice Department’s justifications for torture and domestic eavesdropping. Now the Bush administration has gone even further. This newer, subtler and equally dangerous assault on Congress’ role came to public light during Supreme Court confirmation hearings for Judge Samuel Alito: The use of “interpretative” presidential signing statements to change the basic meaning of a law. This under-the-radar innovation now risks compromising the basic function of Congress without any meaningful public debate—unless Congress puts up more of a fight.

Much more.

Why does Bush want to test pesticides on humans?

Is it cheap and called Cyclone C?

Why christians should care:

Hitler used a pesticide, Zyklon B (Cyclone B), as the cheapest and fastest way to exterminate Jews. If you think you're safe from Bush's brownshirted, jackbooted SS police state thugs created by the unPatriot Act, tell it to the German Jew World War I veterans who disappeared in Hitler's concentration camps.

Hitler considered Jews vermin. Bush and his junta consider us pests, as well. Are you willing to be treated as vermin deserving of extermination? Or are you willing to fight back?

German and Polish Jews wait for their unelected fascist dictator to "test" pesticide Zyklon B on them at Auschwitz.

Cops now may search your home without a warrant or probably cause

Especially if you ever voted for a Democrat. Or read this blog.

Why christians should care:

If Bush can declare his illegal activities legal--just because he says so--he can declare your legal activities illegal--just because he says so. Ergo, once his theofascist friends control enough seats in Congress to declare their OneChurch the only church, they can declare your church illegal.

Remember, Hitler declared it illegal to be Jewish in nazi Germany--because he said so. If it could happen there, it can happen here.

Are you getting ready yet? If not, someday soon you'll wish you had. Leave a note in COMMENTS if you're not sure how to get started.

Why the founders established a wall between church and state

Next some theofascist will pray an "apology" for letting blacks vote and women work.

Why christians should care:

Whenever there's a state-sponsored prayer or any other official religious event, it's unconstitutional. Nothing could be clearer than what the Constitution says several times on this matter. To understand why, ask yourself, "Whose prayer? Whose preacher? Whose agenda? Why one and not another?"

One group of "christians" could pray for a return to slavery, saying the Bible supports that "peculiar institution." Another group could pray thanks for the end of slavery, citing that Moses led the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt. Is one group's rightness over the other proved merely by having the political power to put forth its agenda while quashing the other's?

Republicans support the troops, they just won't equip them properly

Halliburton and Bechtel still get $48.50 per meal served in Iraq, while most soldiers wear dangerous, old-style helmets. (Then there's all those unarmored Humvees and crappy flak vests.) That's because we're at war and sacrifices must be those who fight for those who won't go near a recruiting station.

Why christians should care:

Bush sent GIs to an unnecessary war. Bush criminally sent them poorly prepared in almost every way. Bush gives our tax dollars to his defense industry friends who help him sell and maintain his war that he started with lies. In short, all republicans are liars, hypocrites, criminals and fascists.

Bush caught lying...again, this time about student loans

To a college student, by the way, who's clearly smarter than he is.

Why christians should care:

Bush lies literally every time he opens his mouth. He's a sociopath and a pathological liar. He's the biggest criminal in American history. (Considering Nixon--ptooey!--that's saying something.) Plus, he's a dumbass, which is why he usually holds Q&As only with chosen questioners who'll ask him what he's prepared to answer.

Expecting to be impeached, Bush illegally spied on Democrats hoping to find dirt to use against them

Why christians should care:

No one is safe from this criminal, fascist junta.

Fascist Extreme Court just as corrupt as Congress

Scalia played questionable tennis with Federalist Society instead of attending Roberts' swearing-in ceremony. And once Scalito gets on the bench, no part of the Constitution or law is safe. We either accept their turning our country into a fascist police state, or we do something about it in this year's mid-terms.

How to respond to Rove's lies

Why christians should care:

Christians don't tell lies or say that lies are the truth. Rove's contention is a lie, and must be called a lie.

From The Left Coaster

A piece in today’s New York Times says that the White House and GOP believe the NSA spying mess is a winner for them, as long as they can keep the talking points focused on the lie that Democrats are against keeping track of contacts with Al Qaeda suspects. As Rove indicated last week, the White House believes that as long as they can perpetuate this lie, the GOP can reinforce through repetition that the Democrats are soft on terrorism, Al Qaeda, and national security. But the White House wants to ignore the fact that many Republicans are opposed to what Bush has been doing.

Democrats should take Rove’s “heads-up” as a gift, and set up a war room for the remainder of 2006, like they did on defeating Bush on Social Security. The War Room should focus on jumping down the throats of any media outlet and reporter who takes the White House spin and runs with it, and should vigorously and aggressive push back with fact sheets that not only point out the White House lies (and yes, call them “lies”), but that also directly challenge the credibility and agenda of those reporters and their media outlets. And yes, that means you Tweety and Timmeh, and the rest of the terrified bedwetters in the media.

As a matter of routine, Democrats should spend all of 2006 reminding the public and the media that:

Democrats didn’t ignore Al Qaeda in 2001; Bush did.

Democrats didn’t let Bin Laden’s family leave the country after 9/11; Bush did.

Democrats didn’t let Bin Laden get away at Tora Bora; Bush did.

Democrats didn’t pass twice on killing Zarqawi; Bush did.

Democrats didn’t play into Bin Laden’s hands by attacking Iraq; Bush did.

Democrats didn’t turn away from Afghanistan and let the Taliban back; Bush did.

Democrats haven’t consistently under funded anti-terror measures here at home; Bush has.

Democrats didn’t ignore current law and the Congress to conduct these illegal activities; Bush did.

Repeat it over and over again, and bash it over the heads of the media day in and day out, all through 2006. The Times story notes that there isn’t a single Democratic point person on this issue, and that can be a disadvantage when going up against an executive branch that can coordinate a message and messengers, and that already controls the media cycle through its surrogates in the corporate media. Democrats can beat this back by having numerous responders all repeating the same points, all directed at the White House lies and the media for repeating them.

Why "The West Wing" was cancelled

Why christians should care:

I will add three thoughts to his.

First, no more Sorkin or Sheen. They're impossible to replace.

Second, Jed Bartlet is an impossible act to follow, especially by Matt Santos who is no Jed Bartlet.

Third, and most importantly, the fascists who destroyed American journalism can't allow such "librul" ideas as once found on The West Wing to continue to pollute the minds of impressionable teevee viewers. At its best, the show was about solving America's problems. Republicans don't know or care about solving problems. They only care about tax cuts and using the Constitution for toilet paper.

Imagine the good such people could do if they refocused their energies and resources

Why christians should care:

1. If criminals have guns, we must have guns.

2. If republicans have guns, we really must have guns. (Unless you want to be an easy mark in Holocaust II.)

3. Gun laws only keep guns away from you and me. Criminals always have all the guns they want.

4. Gun laws don't revent gun crimes any more than speed limits prevent driving too fast.

We have far fewer resources of all kinds than the fascists have. It's essential we cooperate on real issues--like Scalito and illegal spying on law-abiding citizens--and accomplish something instead of just acting superior while wasting effort.

Moreover, countless people vote for republicans merely over gun issues, and are "librul" on everything else. (Same about abortion, but that's for another time.) And I can personally atest to the fact that more and more gunowners are becoming infuriated with Bush's trampling of our civil rights. We can turn these people away from the dark side, but only if we reach out to them. If we keep hammering at them about their legally-owned guns that they use legally, we'll keep running them off. And America needs us to put our collective shoulders to the same wheel more than at any time since World War II.

Then, we had two common enemies, Germany and Japan, both fascist in nature. America's biggest enemy today is the republican party, also fascist in nature. This year's mid-terms will decide if our country remains a Constitutional democracy, or slides the rest of the way into feudal theocracy. If we are to save our country, we will need gun owners who have finally realized who republicans really are. We can turn them, but only by reaching out to them over common ground.

Next, we must reach out to those who vote for republicans strictly over abortion.

Fascists and theofascists want to control what gets on the internets

Why christians should care:

Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32, King James Version). The fascists and theofascists don't want us to know the truth because it would free us from manipulation by their lying, fearmongering bullies.

Republicans appeal to the worst in people, mostly the worst people

Why christians should care:

Jesus didn't tell jerks they were already doing His work so they'd make Him rich and powerful. He told them what His work really was, and for them to be born again and be like Him. To anyone who's been awake over the past 50 years, this is the opposite of what republicans and theofascist televangelists do.

Iran war talk is designed to make oil zillionaires even richer

While the rest of us shiver and ride the bus.

Why christians should care:

Bush and his criminal friends mean to own everything, and for the rest of us to be glad we have minimum wage jobs which will never let us own property, but have to rent from our masters in perpetuity. They want us to be happy to be serfs, but slavery has never been far from their minds.

Bush now has his own private bodyguard

Given him by the unPatriot Act.

Why christians should care:

The secret police work for a criminal, fascist abomination.

A permanent police force, to be known as the 'United States Secret Service Uniformed Division,'" empowered to "make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence" ... "or for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony."

Hitler had an SS, too.

"So, you won't be protected, eh?" (Actual caption of original cartoon.)

They were his personal bodyguard, and ran the extermination camps.

Why don't people care that republicans stole the 2004 election?

The worthlesscorporatemedia don't care.

Christians should care because criminal, fascist abominations now run the country.

Bush/Cheney stole their re-election in 2004.

They stole it not just in Ohio, but all throughout the USA, from coast to coast.

They stole it not by using any single ploy, but through a stealthy combination of computerized vote theft, bureaucratic monkey business, systematic shortages of viable equipment and old-fashioned dirty tricks, including rampant bullying, disinformation and obstructionism.

Such foul play was not apparent "on both sides" in the 2004 election, but was committed mainly by the Bush Republicans.

The evidence is both abundant and precise--and it's all here in Fooled Again.

"This second heist of the White House is one of the great untold stories of our time - even though it was largely carried out in plain sight. Miller performs the simple but increasingly rare act of journalism and gathers a mountain of overwhelming evidence from publicly available material. This is no "conspiracy theory" stitched together from anonymous sources, strained inferences and dark innuendo, but a solid case based on official records, sworn testimony, eyewitness accounts, news reports - and the Bushists' own words."

Bush declares war on Democrats; says they are America's enemies

And will spy on them whenever he wants, so nyaah!

Why christians should care:

No one is safe with this fascist junta in power.

Republicans don't want minorities to vote because most vote for Democrats.

Pentagon is Big Brother's Little Brother

Posse Comitatus, just like librul Constitution and librul laws, no longer in effect

Supporting a war just because the warmonger is a republican* is theofascist doctrine, not christian moral doctrine

(*And therefore both annointed and appointed by God.)

Why christians should care:

Some (preachers) tried to square the American invasion with Christian "just war" theory, but such efforts could never quite reckon with the criterion that force must only be used as a last resort. As a result, many ministers dismissed the theory as no longer relevant.

Some preachers tried to link Saddam Hussein with wicked King Nebuchadnezzar of Biblical fame, but these arguments depended on esoteric interpretations of the Old Testament book of II Kings and could not easily be reduced to the kinds of catchy phrases that are projected onto video screens in vast evangelical churches. The single common theme among the war sermons appeared to be this: our president is a real brother in Christ, and because he has discerned that God's will is for our nation to be at war against Iraq, we shall gloriously comply.

Such sentiments are a far cry from those expressed in the Lausanne Covenant of 1974. More than 2,300 evangelical leaders from 150 countries signed that statement, the most significant milestone in the movement's history. Convened by Billy Graham and led by John Stott, the revered Anglican evangelical priest and writer, the signatories affirmed the global character of the church of Jesus Christ and the belief that "the church is the community of God's people rather than an institution, and must not be identified with any particular culture, social or political system, or human ideology."

The official portrait Bush deserves

It's made from images of those who've died in the war for oil and world conquest he started with lies.

Christians shouldn't support a president (sic) who lies literally every time he opens his diseased mouth

Bush says he got top al qaeda boss. Pakistan says, no way.

Jebya: Democrats talk. Republicans act..." every possible way contrary to the Constitution. In this case, security hauled off five reporters from "private" gathering.

Why christians should care:

When they meet secretly, you know they're up to no good.

Donkeys have long memories, too: Dems won't forget Bush junta's crimes when they're gone

Why christians should care:

Republicans for decades have called themselves the party of law and order, and Democrats the party always "soft on crime" for protecting civil rights. Now that the republicans have shown themselves to be hypocrites and criminals, they must be held accountable.

AFA to America: We know what's best for you. Our families are perfect, yours suck

Why christians should care:

The very people who want government to leave them alone demand the God-given "right" to control every aspect of your life. I can't seem to find anything in my Bible where Jesus told his followers to push everybody else around. I also seem to be missing the part of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus said, "Blessed are the hypocritical bullies, for they shall dominate what they don't own...yet"

Forty years ago, theofascists said the Bible forbade Clarence Thomas marrying a white woman.

Now the Bible no longer says that. Convenient, ain't it?

Apparently, I am Hitler

I like Wagner, dogs, little kids and interstate highways. So did Hitler.

Why christians should care:

Instead of finding Osama bin Hidin, the fascists are calling us all Osama. I can't find anything in my Bible that says, "Blessed are the hatespeakers, for they shall conquer the Earth."

Jellyfish Reid kneels before his masters, apologizes for calling them what they are

Why christians should care:

The fascists will destroy their enemies. No one is safe in their feudal theocracy.

Republicans are the only ones who support the troops

If by, "support," you mean, "bend them over, tie them down and take turns screwing them."

Veterans are not allowed to hire a lawyer to assist them with veterans' benefits claims.

Why christians should care:

I can't find anything in my Bible that says God wants rich and powerful people to treat everyone else like so many shop towels--use them to wipe up our messes, and then throw them away.

Halliburton gave troops contaminated water, paid for by our tax dollars

There are christians, then there are theofascists

Why christians should care:

Christians learn from the Bible to influence their beliefs and behavior. Theofascists rewrite the Bible to match their beliefs and behavior.

New Socialists: Evangelicals have risen as a political force, with the savvy to shape American public policy

Would God cut taxes? What does the Bible say about food stamps? Is a Christian serving the Lord if he fails to protect the environment?

All across the country, conservative evangelicals are re-evaluating what it means to be a Christian and their soul searching, evangelical leaders and scholars say, has the potential to fundamentally reorder the federal government's priorities and trigger seismic shifts in the Republican and Democratic parties.

"Never before has God given American evangelicals such an awesome opportunity to shape public policy," the National Association of Evangelicals declared in a manifesto of sorts called "An Evangelical Call to Civic Responsibility." With evangelicals accounting for a quarter of the electorate, it says, "Disengagement is not an option."

But this isn't your father's Moral Majority.

The newly recognized wave of evangelical social activism remains committed to the sanctity of life, the preservation of marriage and protection of the family. But it is far more progressive socially than the Religious Right juggernaut that emerged as a conservative — and wholly Republican — political force a generation ago.

These evangelic activists believe that serving God also means acting on a "biblically balanced agenda" that would, among other things, erase poverty, trim tax cuts for the rich and protect the environment.

Bush: "I did not have photographic relations with Abramamoff"

"But I do know his children's names."

Ho-hum, Bush caught lying...again

This time about knowing Abrmamoff...again. But that's okay because God put him in power to lie, steal and start wars so he could turn America into a feudal theocracy and conquer the world for PNAC.

Bush met with Marianas jerk over sweatshop slavery
Big contributor was Abramoff's client.

TIME confirms five pictures of Bush with Abramamoff.

Why christians should care:

Presidents shouldn't hang out with criminals, and then expect us to believe his lies about it. Also, presidents should be elected, not appointed by the Extreme Court or slithered into office by rigged voting machines.

Army jury to decide if torture and murder are okay

FORT CARSON, Colo. (Reuters) - A jury of six U.S. Army officers began deliberations on Saturday in the court-martial of an Army officer charged with murdering an Iraqi general during an interrogation, using techniques that the prosecutor described as torture.

Chief Warrant Officer Lewis Welshofer Jr. is accused of suffocating Maj. Gen. Abed Hamed Mowhoush by placing him head-first in a sleeping bag while covering his mouth and sitting on his chest during an interrogation in Iraq in November 2003. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

Prosecutor Maj. Tiernan Dolan told the jury of Army officers that Welshofer knew his interrogation techniques were dangerous and described them as "torture."

"If we don't hold the high ground in a country like Iraq, we don't hold it anywhere. Chief Welshofer failed in his duty to uphold the Geneva Convention," Dolan said in his closing argument.

Why christians should care:

I can't seem to find anything in my Bible saying Jesus encouraged people to torture and murder their enemies out of blind obedience to a king, and then justify it because the king claims he was put in power by Jesus' dad.

"Duck and Cover: The Next Generation"

DeptHomeSec teaches kids how to be afraid, be very afraid so their parents will vote for republicans in this year's mid-terms.

(AP) -- After more than a year of delays, the Department of Homeland Security says it plans to launch a preparedness program next month aimed at alerting and preparing children for terror attacks and natural disasters.

The program, called Ready Kids, is scheduled to roll out with TV ads, school programs and other events.

"Ready Kids is a tool for parents and teachers to use to be able to speak to their students and children about how to be prepared for any type of disaster," said DHS spokeswoman Joanna Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said the program will include age-appropriate activities and lessons on preparedness.

FEMA, an agency within the DHS, already has a program preparing children for disasters. "FEMA for Kids" ( includes a pudgy and nervous-looking airplane leaking a trail of smoke, a hermit crab mascot named "Herman," and a song with a rap beat.

Remember the first run of "Duck and Cover?" I do.

There were no attacks. And if there had been, none of this would have done any good. But it convinced stupid people to be afraid of commies, and to depend on lying, criminal republicans to keep them safe. If only somebody was there--then and now--to protect us from republicans.

Why christians should care:

My Bible doesn't say it's okay for fascist dictators to take--and keep--power with lies and fearmongering. In fact, "Suffer the little children..." doesn't mean, "Cause children to suffer in order to make money and gain political power." It means, "Allow the children to come to me."

And while Jesus probably looked more like Woody Allen than Peter O'Toole, He never scared the water out of children, he just comforted them.

And then there was Joe McCarthy, the fascist, fearmongering bully who made a name for himself during the early "Duck and Cover" days by destroying people's lives with lies and innuendoes.

Demand young republican chickenhawks enlist for the war they love so much

If you love the war Bush started with lies, go, send your children, or shut the hell up.

It's time to reach out to all Americans. On January 30, the College Republicans will sponsor "Finish the Job: Support Our Troops" Rallies in Washington DC and All Over America to support President Bush's January 31 State of the Union address. All of you can support every American's First Amendment rights and make a patriotic impression on our great country. Red States and Blue States together, we're all Americans.

Cindy Sheehan said it best: If you support the war, I think you should join it. I hear recruiting numbers are low. It's the College Republicans' day; don't spoil it with anti-Bush counter-protests against the war itself. Instead, encourage the College Republicans and their supporters, including Protest Warrior, to volunteer for military service: Be A Man! Enlist! Iraq, Afghanistan and other veterans of all ages can help by wearing their uniforms and personally inviting military recruiters to join them.

The Washington DC rally will take place Monday, January 30, at 6:30 p.m., at American Legion Post No. 8, 224 D St., SE (Metro Capitol South). Be there!

Let's do this right.

Why christians should care:

I can't find anything in my Bible that says we can take over another country just because we feel like it.

I hope republicans listen to Rove. If they do, it'll be the last we hear of them

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House political adviser Karl Rove on Friday said Democratic critics of the Iraq war were wrong and Republicans should highlight the issue in November's congressional elections.

Most polls show majorities of Americans have lost confidence in President George W. Bush's handling of the war. But Rove, still under the threat of indictment in a CIA-leak probe, said Republicans should emphasize Bush's record on security, the economy and the courts during the November campaign.

Why christians should care:

Because Bush's record on all those things is abysmal, and the American people already know it. So if they try to convince people otherwise, it'll only help us put them out of business forever come the mid-terms, and they'll stop turning America into a feudal theocracy. Then Bush and his worshippers can move to Argentina with all the other confederate and nazi holdouts.

They're finally listening to me in D. C.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 - Vice President Dick Cheney gave Congressional leaders a closed-door briefing at the White House Friday on the National Security Agency's domestic eavesdropping program, as Democrats escalated their attacks on President Bush over the operation by drawing comparisons to British tyrants and Nazi Germany.

Why christians should care:

Because republicans are a melding of British tyrants and fascists, and they do want to turn our country into a feudal theocracy. And anybody who doesn't believe that by now isn't teachable.

Theofascist hypocrite Reed bribes people to attend theofascist rally

Typical gathering of theofascist Kompassionate Krixtain Koalition.

You remember Reed, the "christian" who helped one tribe's gambling business defeat another tribe's gambling business.

Reed offers cash to drum up crowd for Christian (sic) Coalition

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 01/21/06

Ralph Reed wants a good crowd at today's annual gathering of the Christian Coalition of Georgia. And he's willing to shell out cash for it.

His Republican campaign for lieutenant governor sent an e-mail to supporters this week offering to pay the $20 entrance fee and — for out-of-towners — an overnight stay in a hotel.

Why christians should care:

Reed is nothing resembling a christian, and neither are his supporters. They're all theofascist bullies who only care about making money and gaining political power to turn America into a feudal theocracy. May they burn in hell for all eternity. And when that's up, they can start over.

Theofascists only want judges who break, ignore the law, just like all other republicans

This criminal, for instance.

Theofascist bullies kill reality show

The unscripted series, "Welcome to the Neighborhood," was heavily promoted and scheduled to appear in a summer time slot usually occupied by "Desperate Housewives." Stephen Wright, 51, who was already living in a nice house a few miles away with his partner and adopted son, said he participated primarily for one reason: to show tens of millions of prime-time viewers that a real gay family might, over the course of six episodes, charm a neighborhood whose residents overwhelmingly identified themselves as white, Christian and Republican.

As it turned out, the Wrights did win - beating families cast, at least partly, for being African-American, Hispanic, Korean, tattooed or even Wiccan - but outside of a few hundred neighbors (who attended private screenings last summer) and a handful of journalists, almost no one has been able to see them do so.

Why christians should care:

White, christian republicans learned to love their neighbors, and the theofascist bullies can't have that in their feudal theocracy.

(I remember watching Jerry Falwell say about 12 years ago, "Gays are vile, evil people...just as soon kill you as look at you." What a wonderful minister of the Gospel of Jesus he is.)

"Love they neighbor" no longer applies to theofascist bullies

This issue isn't television. The issue is that the theofascists want to put most of us in concentration camps that Halliburton will build with our own tax money Bush gives them in no-bid contracts.

Iraq veterans tell the truth about the war Bush started with lies

Why christians should care:

You mean besides the lies, the war, all the money he stole and gave to his friends, and the thousands of people who've died in Bush's move to conquer the world for the fascists at PNAC?

Bush previews SOTU lies about tax cuts, energy prices, health care

You'll need several pairs of these.

Why christians should care:

Bush is a deserter, an illegitimate president, a liar, a hypocrite, a criminal, a warmonger, a fascist and an abomination. Other than that, I don't have anything good to say about him.

Why Democrats should boycott the SOTU pack o' lies:

Because it's going to be a pack o' lies! If they stayed home, and said why, that would be the story, and it would eat up the column inches and airwaves that Bush wants to spread his pack o' lies.
