Impeachable offenses. Does anybody care?

At least KG isn't gay and doesn't want to get married.

"'Regime change' does not stack up. It sounds like a grudge between Bush and Saddam," Ricketts wrote.

"US scrambling to establish a link between Iraq and al (Qaida) is so far frankly unconvincing," Ricketts reported earlier in his March 2002 letter to Straw.

In his own letter to Blair three days later, Straw also seemed to question the scale of the threat. "In the documents so far presented, it has been hard to glean whether the threat from Iraq is so significantly different from that of Iran and North Korea as to justify military action," he wrote.

Impeach the criminals: Pre-invasion bombings were illegal, and King Goerge knew it a year before he gave the "Go" order

King Goerge's bombing raids were illegal, says Foreign Office

A SHARP increase in British and American bombing raids on Iraq in the run-up to war “to put pressure on the regime” was illegal under international law, according to leaked Foreign Office legal advice.

The advice was first provided to senior ministers in March 2002. Two months later RAF and USAF jets began “spikes of activity” designed to goad Saddam Hussein into retaliating and giving the allies a pretext for war.

Extraordinary efforts by the White House to scupper Britain's attempts to tackle global warming have been revealed in leaked US government documents obtained by The Observer.

These papers - part of the Bush administration's submission to the G8 action plan for Gleneagles next month - show how the United States, over the past two months, has been secretly undermining Tony Blair's proposals to tackle climate change.

How we can solve the Pentagon's recruitment problems in one month

We can do this. We should do this.

1. Ask everyone you know and everyone you meet, aged 18-39, and who voted for King Goerge, for a good excuse why he/she is not in uniform.

2. Call/write the entire vast, right-wing conspiracy and demand they tell their mindless minions to enlist in their king's war for oil and fiberty.

3. Call/write all the theo-fascists and demand they tell their fascist flocks to enlist in their king's holy war for Jesus and fiberty. Oh, and oil.

But be prepared to be called a traitor.

About a month ago, the TENNESSEAN ran my letter asking the whereabouts of all the young rethuglicons who demanded this war, who voted for King Goerge, but who are not in uniform. To no one's surprise, I was inundated with hate mail. Most of it was off topic and made no sense. But one guy wrote me repeatedly, calling me a traitor.

Rainer, dean of the Billy Graham School at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., argues that while the “conservative resurgence” of the last quarter-century has effectively transformed the convention into a theologically purer body, it has failed to attract new followers.

“The Southern Baptist Convention is less evangelistic today than it was in the years preceding the conservative resurgence,” writes Rainer, who found that the denomination’s number of annual baptisms has remained virtually unchanged since the 1950s. “We must conclude that the evangelistic growth of the denomination is stagnant, and that the onset of the conservative resurgence has done nothing to improve this trend.”

If the rethuglicons had gotten their way, these brave women never would have been there

And a dozen or more GIs might be dead.

First female soldier since WWII wins Silver Star for bravery in combat.

Another woman wins Bronze Star.

The awards to Hester and Pullen come only weeks after some Republicans in Congress abandoned an effort to curtail the roles of military women in combat zones. The Pentagon and some Democrats and other Republicans opposed the measure.

But, wait...Leigh Ann was a jock in high school and is now an MP. Do you think she might be one of those, you know, lezbinums? Don't you want to find out how badly she hurts morale over there? Do you want her destroying military families with her gayness? Why is this dyke in uniform, stealing medals from brave men?

Or

Congress said to steer military funds to pet projects

US analysts see war effort hurt

WASHINGTON -- Congress, taking advantage of wartime support of national defense spending, is using the military's budget to steer billions to pet projects that apparently have little to do with Iraq or the ongoing war on terrorism, according to congressional documents, government budget officials, and watchdog groups.

The projects range from an unneeded warship and a seriously flawed cargo plane the Pentagon tried to cancel to millions each for a Mississippi wastewater treatment plant, a Nevada fire training station, and a Texas research hospital, the documents show.

The $80 billion war bill passed earlier this year was riddled with add-ons, according to several analyses. It included $10 million to expand wastewater facilities in Swiftwater, Pa. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center got $3 million. A wastewater treatment plant in Desoto County, Miss., got $35 million, and $4 million went to the Fire Sciences Academy in Elk, Nev.

And whenever GIs run out of bullets and spare parts, they blame the libruls. Assholes.

Data retention rules could permit police to obtain records of e-mail chatter, Web browsing or chat-room activity months after Internet providers ordinarily would have deleted the logs--that is, if logs were ever kept in the first place. No U.S. law currently mandates that such logs be kept.
In theory, at least, data retention could permit successful criminal and terrorism prosecutions that otherwise would have failed because of insufficient evidence. But privacy worries and questions about the practicality of assembling massive databases of customer behavior have caused a similar proposal to stall in Europe and could engender stiff opposition domestically.

King Goerge bombed Iraq's command structure six months before invasion

This was during the "We don't want war" phase of lies.

...Charlie Clements, now head of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, described driving in a Baghdad neighborhood six months before the war "and a building would just explode, hit by a missile from 30,000 feet -'What is that building?'" Clements would ask. "'Oh, that's a telephone exchange.'"

Later, at a conference at Nevada's Nellis Air Force Base, Clements heard a U.S. General boast "that he began taking out assets that could help in resisting an invasion at least six months before war was declared."

The timeline of King Goerge's war plans and lies about them

It all began in February, 2001, one month after the first illegitimate coronation.

Excerpts

March 2001 - Vice-President Dick Cheney meets with oil company executives and reviews oil field maps of Iraq. Cheney refuses to release the names of those attending or their purpose. Harper's has since learned their plan and purpose -- see below.

May 2003 - The general (Garner) also disclosed that these invade-and-grab plans were developed long before the US asserted that Saddam still held WDM:

"All I can tell you is the plans were pretty elaborate; they didn't start them in 2002, they were started in 2001."

March 2002 - "Condi's enthusiasm for regime change is undimmed."

http://michaelmoore.com/words/index.php?id=3001

In one memorandum, dated March 14, 2002, and labeled "secret — strictly personal," Blair's chief foreign policy advisor, David Manning, described to the prime minister a dinner he had had with Rice.

"We spent a long time at dinner on Iraq," wrote Manning, now the British ambassador to the U.S. "It is clear that Bush is grateful for your [Blair's] support and has registered that you are getting flak. I said that you would not budge in your support for regime change but you had to manage a press, a Parliament and a public opinion that was different from anything in the States. And you would not budge either in your insistence that, if we pursued regime change, it must be very carefully done and produce the right result. Failure was not an option."

The memo went on to say:

"Condi's enthusiasm for regime change is undimmed. But there were some signs, since we last spoke, of greater awareness of the practical difficulties and political risks…. From what she said, Bush has yet to find answers to the big questions:

• How to persuade international opinion that military action against Iraq is necessary and justified;
• What value to put on the exiled Iraqi opposition;
• How to coordinate a US/allied military campaign with internal opposition (assuming there is any);
• What happens the morning after?"

History lesson:

August, 1945: Most of Japan lay in ashes from firebombings. All the Pacific islands it had captured early in the war were back in allied hands. Its army was being routed all over southeast Asia and China, and its navy had literally ceased to exist. Their only remaining weapon was the kamikaze force, a bunch of worn-out planes piloted by untrained young pilots. Then Truman ordered the dropping of the two A-bombs. Did you know that when the emperor announced on the radio that he'd accepted unconditional surrender terms, the people of Japan had no idea they'd been losing the war badly for the last 2 1/2 years? That's because their propaganda media told them all day long, every day, that they were defeating the white devils from America in fictitious battle after fictitious battle, and that soon the world would be theirs. For months after the surrender ceremony, the entire nation was in clinical shock. If you don't believe me, look it up.

So I put it to you: When things go badly, should the people live in a fantasy world, or hear the truth? (Hint: The founding fathers put freedom of the press in the First Amendment to the Constitution. Not the Tenth or the Fifth, but the friggin' First one. That's how strongly they felt about having a free press to inform the people. FAUXNEWS is not free press, or even press. They're the White House spokeschannel. They're propagandists and liars. "Pastors," "churches" and faith crimes against children

This is what happens when people turn their brains over to "religious" leaders.

Children are being trafficked from Africa and then used as sacrificial offerings in the UK, according to a leaked report commissioned by the Metropolitan Police.

The report also suggested that children are trafficked as domestic and sex slaves, and even for men with HIV who believe that if they have sex with a child, they will be cleansed.
The authors pointed out that these were allegations, and they could not test whether they were true.

But they voiced concerns that children could be in serious and possibly life-threatening situations.

The report also highlighted concerns about church pastors identifying children as witches, who then suffer violence at the hands of their parents.

The report says the pastors and their churches are a "lucrative business" operating throughout the UK, Europe and Africa.
It said: "A number of pastors maintain that God speaks to them and lets them know when someone is possessed ... After much debate, they acknowledged that children labelled as possessed are in danger of being beaten by their families.

"However, they would not accept that they played a major role in inciting such violence."

He...Said...WHAT?!?!?!

"President Bush has declared that he believes in a god who speaks to different religions."

While many Evangelicals believe the president has accepted Christ as his Savior, some have been somewhat disturbed by such things as the White House celebration each year of Ramadan. The president may have added to those Evangelicals' concerns yesterday (June 13) when he told a group of international exchange students that he believes in a god who is not confined to one religion. "I believe there's an almighty god who speaks to different faiths -- and I believe freedom is a gift from that almighty," the president said. At the White House ceremony, President Bush went on to praise the exchange students for teaching their American classmates about Islam, and noted how one Muslim exchange student helped his Michigan high school classmates learn about the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Quoting the student, Bush said, "When I got to one of my classes on the first day of Ramadan, I was totally amazed. There were signs everywhere in the class saying 'Happy Ramadan, Abdul.'" The apparent celebration of Ramadan at the Michigan school seems in sharp contrast to the increasing hostility towards Christianity in many public school systems around the U.S. [Fred Jackson]

There is no hostility towards christianity. There is, however, plenty of hostility towards theo-fascism masquerading as christianity.

Constitution-hating Senate rethuglicons want us to have freedom to say anything they like

Only one flag-burning incident was reported so far this year. One.

Meanwhile, a lot of GIs have been burned up in Iraq. Shouldn't the Senate do something about that first? How about a constitutional amendment against lying to go to war?

The Senate may be within one or two votes of passing a constitutional amendment to ban desecration of the U.S. flag, clearing the way for ratification by the states, a key opponent of the measure said Tuesday.

The First Amendment clearly was meant to give theo-fascists the right to determine rights for the rest of us. But about the issue of private property...can I burn my own old clothes? What about my own books? My own flag (not somebody else's flag, one I paid for)?

Go.

King for life?

They want to repeal the 22nd Amendment and let King Goerge stay in power forever. This is the same party that created the 22nd in the first place because FDR was so wildly popular. (What would these people have said if the Dems wanted to do the same thing so Clinton could run--and win--again?) Can anyone say "flip-flop?"

So, with the blood of 4,743 lynching victims crying out from the ground for some measure of justice - however delayed it might be - the U.S. Senate used the cover of night, and the more despicable cover of a voice vote, to take not a bold and courageous stand, but a lukewarm acceptance of responsibility for one of the most heinous chapters in American history.

Gold Star mother watched by Secret Service, FBI, NSA and probably Boy Scouts

Mother of dead GI vilifies King Goerge over war

The president of Gold Star Families for Peace, a mother who lost a son in Iraq, criticized the United States' "illegal and unjust war" yesterday during an interfaith rally in Lexington.

Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., accused President Bush of lying to the nation about a war which has consumed tens of billions of dollars and claimed more than 1,700 American lives -- including the life of Army Specialist Casey Austin Sheehan.

Sheehan was one of more than a dozen activists who were scheduled to speak at yesterday's anti-war rally at the Red Mile, which was organized by the Clergy and Laity Network and co-sponsored by dozens of liberal religious organizations.

Sheehan ridiculed Bush for saying that it's "hard work" comforting the widow of a soldier who's been killed in Iraq.

"Hard work is seeing your son's murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you're enjoying the last supper you'll ever truly enjoy again. Hard work is having three military officers come to your house a few hours later to confirm the aforementioned murder of your son, your first-born, your kind and gentle sweet baby. Hard work is burying your child 46 days before his 25th birthday. Hard work is holding your other three children as they lower the body of their big (brother) into the ground. Hard work is not jumping in the grave with him and having the earth cover you both," she said.

Since her son's death, Sheehan has made opposition to the Bush administration a full-time job.

"We're watching you very carefully and we're going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people," she said, quoting a letter she sent to the White House. "Beating a political stake in your black heart will be the fulfillment of my life ... ," she said, as the audience of 200 people cheered.

The "Freedom and Faith Bus Tour" -- which brought Sheehan to Lexington, has already visited New York, Chicago and Indianapolis. The next stops include Columbus, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.

Wisconsin Democrats are calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Loyalists at this weekend's state party convention in Oshkosh passed a resolution calling for Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings against the three officials for their role in the war in Iraq.

The resolution contends that the administration "lied or misled" the United Nations, Congress, and the American public about the justification for the war. It cites the so-called "Downing Street memo" from British Prime Minister Tony Blair's government, as well as reports from U.N. weapons inspectors as evidence of widespread deception.

Notice I didn't use "the" American Taliban. That's because there are many.

Will the Falwellians throw a hissyfit over this? No. The theo-fascists don't talk about each other, do they? Only "other people."

Authorities say the teens aren't really being expelled for what they watch or wear, but rather to reduce competition for women in places where men can have dozens of wives.

"It's a mathematical thing. If you are marrying all these girls to one man, what do you do with all the boys?" said Utah Atty. Gen. Mark Shurtleff, who has had boys in his office crying to see their mothers. "People have said to me: 'Why don't you prosecute the parents?' But the kids don't want their parents prosecuted; they want us to get the No. 1 bad guy — Warren Jeffs. He is chiefly responsible for kicking out these boys."

Decisive victory doubtful in Iraq

Military: Diplomacy is only path to peace

WASHINGTON - Military operations in Iraq have not succeeded in weakening the insurgency, and Iraq's government, with U.S. support, is now seeking a political reconciliation among the nation's ethnic and tribal factions as the only viable route to stability, according to U.S. military officials and private specialists.

Two years after the toppling of Saddam Hussein, the Iraq conflict has evolved into a classic guerrilla war*, they argue. Outbreaks of fighting are followed by periods of relative calm and soon thereafter by a return to rampant violence. Underscoring the strength of the insurgency, militants killed five U.S. Marines in a roadside bombing and authorities found 21 bodies on Friday near the Syrian border, where American and Iraqi troops conducted a major military operation in western Iraq.
